ABOUT US

A message from our founder

When I established the Adam Foundation, I was driven by a simple but powerful belief: that the strength of a nation lies in strong communities and that communities thrive when people feel seen, included, and empowered to lead.

The Foundation is a British organisation, rooted in this country’s long tradition of civic service and fairness. Good values travel across cultures and centuries, and I have always found that faith and civic duty pull in exactly the same direction – towards social cohesion. A society that draws on the full range of its people is not only fairer, it is stronger.

The United Kingdom contains an extraordinary breadth of experience, background, and talent. This is a huge strength. But unrealised potential is potential wasted.

The Foundation’s work is patient work. It builds through trust, long-term investment, and by standing alongside communities determined to shape their own futures. It is also quiet work and often unglamorous, but it is the kind of work that lasts.

Great nations are not built by governments alone – they are built by people, and by how well those people build with one another. Britain nurtured me. The Adam Foundation is my commitment to do the same for others.

THE FOUNDATION IN BRIEF

The Adam Foundation was established by Safwan Adam to serve the philanthropic vision of the Adam family and to strengthen the fabric of British society. Rooted in faith, civic duty, and a commitment to the common good, the Foundation brings people together around shared values, responsibility, and service.

Inspired by an Islamic ethos and guided by enduring British values, the Foundation works to help shape a fairer, more confident United Kingdom - one where every community is empowered to contribute, lead, and flourish. Through leadership development, civic engagement, and community investment, we nurture ideas, institutions, and people to build unity, strengthen democracy, and ensure a shared and hopeful future for all.

We invest ethically, govern transparently, and measure impact across decades. Our £100M endowment ambition funds civic leadership, education, economic participation and social cohesion in Britain - in perpetuity.
