Frequently Asked Questions
The Adam Foundation is a charitable organisation established by Safwan Adam to advance the philanthropic objectives of the Adam family. One that unites heritage and modern civic values, faith and fairness, local impact and global vision. Through our work, we aim to inspire responsible leadership, deepen social cohesion and contribute to a stronger, more united Britain.
The Foundation focuses on leadership development, civic participation, social cohesion, integration, and community wellbeing. Across all our work, we aim to strengthen democratic life, advance equality, and support communities to thrive by funding, facilitation and engagement.
The Foundation also develops and delivers its own initiatives - including Avicenna Foundation and the Community Exchange Hub (CEH) - to advance ethical leadership, learning, and community led action. We also support individuals, organisations, and initiatives that share our values and are committed to creating positive social impact. This includes community groups, educational initiatives, leaders, and partners working for the common good.
Avicenna is the scholarship arm of the Adam Foundation and an initiative dedicated to ethical leadership, intellectual tradition, wellbeing, and thoughtful public dialogue. It draws on the richness of Islamic civilisation while engaging with contemporary challenges.
CEH exists to address the growing need for constructive dialogue and partnership between British Muslim communities and wider society. It creates a safe, structured space for conversation, cohesion and discourse.
Adam Hub is a third space located in Milbank Tower, London that brings the Foundation’s vision to life. It hosts dialogue, learning, and collaborative activity, serving as a hub for community connection, leadership, and civic engagement. It is a facilitation space and asset to progress our mission, values and achieve our vision.
We work closely with trusted partners across civil society, education, faith, and community sectors. Through strategic partnerships, advice, and targeted support, we help strengthen programmes, institutions, and leadership.
The Foundation supports initiatives through a combination of strategic investment, partnerships, and targeted support. Our funding is invite-only and funding decisions are made in line with our values, priorities, and long term impact goals.
There are many ways to engage with the Adam Foundation - through attending events, partnering with our initiatives, contributing expertise, or participating in community programmes. We welcome collaboration with those who share our vision and values.
