Across spring and summer 2026, the Adam Hub became a regular setting for Avicenna Foundation Scholars to learn directly from experienced leaders in diplomacy, politics, public service and law. The Scholar Leadership Development Programme is designed to make leadership practical, connecting scholars directly with people who can speak candidly about judgement, responsibility and navigating institutions.
Sir Simon Fraser, Founding Partner at Flint Global and Chair of Chatham House, joined scholars for a session on “Practical Wisdom”, reflecting on adaptability, judgement and the importance of recognising that different situations demand different approaches. Nusrat Ghani, Madam Deputy Speaker, later visited for a session focused on work ethic, critical thinking, public service and professional resilience.
Scholars also heard from Muhammad Khalid Sayed, Leader of the Opposition in the Western Cape Provincial Parliament, on political leadership in societies shaped by complex histories, and from Tayab Ali, Deputy Managing Partner at Bindmans, on critical thinking, professional judgement and staying grounded in principle while operating within complex systems.
Taken together, these conversations demonstrate what the Adam Hub can offer beyond being a physical venue. It is a place where leadership is developed in practice: where young people can ask questions, test ideas, learn from experience and strengthen their capacity to lead within Britain’s institutions and communities.
