Two Avicenna Foundation Scholars travelled from London to New York to take part in an international gathering connected to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, joining leaders from philanthropy, diplomacy, sport and social impact.
The scholars, Zaynab and Yusuf, travelled shortly after completing university exams and joined a dinner and theatre event supporting the Education Fund. The experience placed them in conversations with people operating at the highest levels of international philanthropy and public life.
For Avicenna Foundation, opportunities like this are an important part of leadership development. Academic success matters, but so does connecting talented young people with networks, ideas and experiences that broaden their ambitions and strengthen their leadership development.
The evening gave the scholars the chance to listen, exchange ideas and build relationships with people working at the highest levels of international public life. Meeting Hugh Jackman was a memorable moment, but the wider value was seeing Avicenna Scholars contribute confidently to global conversations about education, opportunity and social impact.
The visit also reflected the growing relationship between Adam Foundation and Global Citizen, connecting the Foundation’s work in Britain with a wider international effort to expand access to education and opportunity for young people.
Through Avicenna Foundation, Adam Foundation will continue creating pathways that help scholars develop not only academically, but as confident leaders able to contribute in national and international settings.
